Our first seedlings!

On April 8th, we tilled all the beds with mini-rototiller. It looked really awesome and required some heavy-duty exertion (so we left that responsibility to the boys). The kids and Jamie (from Teens4Good) planted 14 radish seedlings that we received as a donation from a member of the Swarthmore Quaker Meeting House. The seedlings were in biodegradable pots, so we were able to just put them straight in the soil. For the kids, the pots were a good simple introduction to planting, especially since the ground was really muddy. Now we’re just waiting to lay out the compost!
