The month began with the community farmer’s market at the hospital. Building on our experience from July we stepped up the market presentation with tablecloths and baskets and our signature chalkboard bearing Ruth Bennett Community Farm. We had over 40 transactions at the market. Tyler and Talia, both Swarthmore students woke up extra early to come to the farm to help harvest and pack up for the market. Gianna a teen apprentice from the community handed out customized thank you cards that she and the other children prepared the day before. Work ready teens Arlo and Nick got their first taste of market action making transactions, telling people about their experience at the farm this summer.
